The Situation

A brand without a system

Tag1 Consulting is a global Drupal development agency with 100+ team members across 20+ countries. They're known for solving complex technical challenges: performance, scalability, infrastructure, but their marketing materials didn't reflect that expertise.

They had recently redesigned their brand identity, but lacked internal design resources to extend it consistently across the formats they needed: conference materials, marketing collateral, web pages, and sales support.

The Challenge

How do you take a newly designed brand and make it work across every format a global agency needs — from ebooks to conference booths to elevator clings without a full-time designer on staff?

What I learned

This project reinforced the value of embedded design partnerships for agencies. They don't need a full-time designer. They need someone who can jump between formats, deliver fast, and maintain brand consistency without constant oversight.

Lesson 01

Brand consistency doesn't come from rigid rules, it comes from understanding the core visual language well enough to adapt it across wildly different formats.

Lesson 02

Dev agencies need design partners who can context-switch quickly. One day it's an ebook, the next it's a conference booth. That versatility is the value.
